SUBJECT: CPL - Automated Greasing Systems

The Corporation of the City of London's - Fleet Services Division is a recognized leader in the area of Municipal Fleet Management with a dedicated staff of fleet professionals.

Approximately 6 years ago the fleet management group decided to assess the feasibility of automated greasing systems for portions of our municipal equipment fleet. After a thorough review of available systems in the market place, CPL greasing systems met our criteria for high caliber components, professional OEM style installation and workmanship and excellent after purchase support services.

In 1998 the City of London proceeded with a pilot project of CPL automated greasing systems on our large front end loaders. Later in 1999 we extended the experiment into our garbage packer fleet. After a noticeable decrease in pin and bushing maintenance, increased driver/operator satisfaction (with increased ease of daily pre-trip inspections) and increased mechanic satisfaction (with the increased ease of servicing the fleet equipment), our fleet management group decided to include CPL automated greasing systems in the city's new fleet equipment purchases. The City of London's standard vehicle/equipment specifications now include CPL automated greasing systems for both heavy off road construction equipment and heavy on road vehicles.

The City of London has not looked back since and is quite satisfied with the decision to include CPL automated greasing systems within our Department's comprehensive fleet management program.
